- First of all, how to find if a valve is leaking?
- Medium leaking out is visible
- Pressure drop in the system, without any intentions or purpose
- Malfunctioning of output drive/shaft/cylinder in valve closed position
- As soon as you find that the valve is leaking, carry out following steps,
- Switch off the main pump
- Release the system pressure, by opening the pressure relief valve
- Look for safety measures, if the medium leaking is dangerous
- Contact Flutec valves for a replacement valve. Do not forget to mention the model code or send a photo of the valve label
- Before dis-assembling the ball valve make sure, the pipelines are drained
- Ball valve handle should be put at 45° angle in order to remove any built up pressure in the valve cavity and also drain the medium from the valve cavity
- While loosening the pipe fittings make sure to not lossen the valve adapters, they should be held firmly by a spanner.
- High pressure valves are recommended only to be replaced/repaired by Flutec Valves themselves, due to the high risk involved in it.
